Homemade Clay Shampoo Recipe For Scalp Detox
DIY scalp detoxifying clay shampoo for oily scalp and dry frizz prone hair : Clay has the amazing absorption property which removes scalp impurities without drying out the hair. Different brands are coming up with shampoos infused with clay these days. So let’s see how to make this scalp detoxifying clay shampoo at home. It is absolutely cheap and easy to make.
- Fullers Earth (clay) – 1 tsp
- Honey – 1 tbsp
- Water – as required
- Any Regular Shampoo (optional) – a coin sized amount
How To Use
Soak the clay in water for some time. Then add honey and water. Mix well to get a thick paste.
Now the clay, honey and water mixture is not going to lather up so if you feel like adding some lathering agent is a must for you then simply add some store bought shampoo. Only a little bit of it will be enough.
Apply this mixture on wet hair. Massage your scalp using circular motion for a few minutes and let it sit for another few minutes. Then simply wash your hair with regular cold water. Follow this up with a conditioner. Remember, conditioning is always a must for dry, frizz prone hair.
This DIY clay shampoo is enriched with the goodness of clay and honey. Fuller’s earth (multani mitti) is a well known grease cleanser. It is widely used in India to make face packs for oily skin. Well this can be used to clean up the scalp too. Thanks to its super absorption property. Clay absorbs even the last bit of grease, oil, dirt, impurity from the scalp without drying out the hair strands. Honey on the other hand is an incredible moisturising ingredient which adds shine to the dry hair and makes your tresses soft, healthy looking and manageable. Together they detoxify the oily scalp and control frizz like any luxury brand product would do.
