Plum E-luminence Moisturizer Review: Best

Moisturizing Creme for Dry Skin?

Formulated with Vitamin E & more than twelve plant-derived nutrients Plum E-luminence creme deeply moisturizes the skin. A luxurious silky soft cream with a hint of white floral fragrance this moisturizer provides deep nourishment to dry, dull lifeless skin, makes skin look radiant, dewy and bouncy. Suitable for dry to very dry skin.

Being a blogger my search for the best moisturizer is never ending. So I wanted to test this E-luminence cream from Plum because I have a used and loved their other products. Since my skin type is combination I decided to try this in the winter, hence, I bought it last December to enjoy this thick cream in the dry season.

Price & Availability

Plum E-luminence moisturizing cream is priced at Rs.575 for 50ml with a shelf life of two years, easily available online. Click here to buy.

Packaging

The packaging is luxe. I adore this classy, sturdy and pretty heavy glass jar with white lid. Even the outer cardboard packaging is thick and sturdy, has white and pink everywhere. Very classy, very feminine. The jar has a lid and a separator to protect spillage of the cream. Even if the jar is made of glass it is very very sturdy, but a bit heavy and bulky. All the ingredients list, other details regarding the brand and the product are mentioned all over the cardboard package.

Claims

Plum E-luminence moisturizing creme claims,”For normal, dry, very dry skin. Goodness by the dozen: Vit E comes together with over a dozen different plant-derived nutrients to provide unmatched hydration & nourishment to dry & damaged skin. The result: bouncy, hydrated, skin that exudes a happy, dewy radiance!”

Plum as a brand claims to be cruelty free and vegan. Their products are not tested on animals which I love. They also say no to nasty chemical like parabens, phthalets, propylene glycol, SLS, DEA, PABA & animal derived ingredients.

Ingredients

The list of ingredients is mentioned on the jar and on the cardboard package as well. This cream contains “aqua, glycerin, helianthus annuus(sunflower) seed oil, caprylic/capric triglyceride, betaine, propanediol, glyceryl stearate citrate, glyceryl stearate, garnicia indica(kokum) seed butter, cetearyl alcohol, simmondsia chinensis(jojoba) seed oil, vitis vinifera(grape) seed oil, tocopheryl acetate, niacinamide, benzylalcohol dehydroacetic acid, potassium sorbate, fragrance, calendula officinails(calendula) flower extract, matricaria recutita(chamomile) extract, sambucus nigra(elder) flower extract, trifolium pretense(red clover) flower extract, rosa(rose) flower extract, xanthun gum, hippophae rhamnoides(sea buckthorn) fruit oil.

My Experience

As I have mentioned earlier I fall in the category of combination skin type so my dry cheeks feel the need for a bit more moisturization in winters. I was very much exited to try this new product. The first ever application was oh so surreal! I loved the whole experience. This cream is moderately thick, kind of like a gel, has a pure white colour and a beautiful mild floral fragrance which gives a very high end feeling every time I apply this cream. The texture is very light yet moisturizing, gets absorbed completely but leaves skin moisturized from within. A tiny bit is enough for my whole face and neck but dry skin people surely will require a bit more.

Plum usually is very generous and mindful with their product packaging, so this baby came so well packed that I enjoyed the unpacking process. As the name suggest, e-luminence, it does give a beautiful glow to the skin. That glow increases to an extent when used regularly. This is because of the star ingredient “niacinamide” present in it. Niacinamide is Vit B3, it helps lightening dark spots and brightening up the complexion, provides glow to the skin which exactly what this cream does.

Since niacinamide can be used in day time as well so this Plum e-luminence moisturizer is a great day cream, given that you have wear an SPF(30+ for outdoors) on top of it. I am glad that they did not add an SPF to it because people tend to skip sunscreens when a cream comes with a built in SPF, but that is never enough to tackle the harsh sun rays. You need a coin sized amount of sunscreen on top of niacinamide to protect your skin from photo sensitivity. So this is a good way to remind people that you need to put your sunscreen on top of it while stepping out of home.

Overall I quite enjoyed using this moisturizer day and night this whole winter. It did not make me feel greasy not dry or lacking moisture. This is just a perfect moisturizer. I am sure dry skin beauties will love this. For very dry skin this cream will work after a certain time of regular applications. You may need to apply a bit more until it shows results but Plum e-luminence cream has the potency to heal and provide relief from excess dryness.

Pros

  1. Cruelty free, vegan, free from parabens, SLS and some other nasties.
  2. Comes in a beautiful glass jar with white and pink outer packaging which looks very classy.
  3. The cream itself is very moisturizing despite having a light and moderately thin texture. It is more like a gel cream (because of xanthan gum) yet it works to fulfill the claims.
  4. Moisturizes well and skin stays moisturized for good 6-8 hours. Dry skin people should definitely try this.
  5. Gives a subtle radiance after each application. Skin appears more even toned after regular usage.
  6. Little goes a long way.
  7. This cream moisturizes skin from within, so it can help healing dry patches, fine lines, excessive dryness of skin upon regular application.

Cons

  1. A big and heavy glass jar is not travel friendly.
  2. Very dry skin people will need a good amount of this cream for proper moisturization and then it might seem a bit pricey for the quantity provided.
  3. Not available offline.

Rating

4.5/5

Do I Recommend?

Absolutely. If you have the above mentioned skin concerns or you just want a luxurious experience from a moisturizer just go for this.

Will I Repurchase?

Probably yes. Being a combination skin type girl I need this only in dry weather conditions so I may not buy it again but I shall definitely consider this whenever I feel the need for an intense moisturization.
